Gassaway Mansion Wedding in Greenville, SC

Wedding Venue in Greenville, SC

Last May, I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful wedding at Gassaway Mansion in Greenville, SC. If you’re currently searching for a Greenville wedding venue, I wanted to share a few thoughts about my experience, what stood out to me as a photographer, and why this venue quickly became one of my favorites.

The Team at Gassaway Mansion

I have to start this blog post by giving a shoutout to the team at Gassaway Mansion. They were on top of things the whole wedding day and made things stress free for my couple and all the guests. It was a rainy day and they jumped into action to make plans accordingly to accommodate everyone. The biggest thing that spoke volumes to me is how they cared for me, my second shooter, and the other hard working vendors. We had our own table set up to eat at in quiet during the reception and served us water throughout the meal. Having a good venue staff really can make or break a wedding day and Gassaway’s team went above and beyond to serve everyone who came through the doors.

Why I Loved the Gassaway Mansion Aesthetic

I could go on and on about how beautiful the venue is. I was telling the mother of the bride that day that I don’t think you can take an ugly photo here. The whole house is preserved in a way that is classy and elegant. The vintage style of the home was just perfect for what the bride and groom envisioned. There are many rooms to choose from, some dark and perfect for backlit photography and some well lit for a soft feeling photo. Each room is decorated with vintage pieces, light fixtures, and furniture that were all picture perfect. My favorite thing about the inside of the house was the staircase that provided a royal feeling walking up and down. I took so many shots of the couple on the stairs, leaned up against the railings, and even from the stairs looking down at them spinning with joy after the ceremony. The outside of the venue looked like a castle with stone artistry. The ceremony space filled with colorful flowers and a beautiful front porch that was perfect for a father-daughter first look. The lawn area was lusciously green and open for plenty of space to run around and be playful as a couple.

Wedding Planning and Coordination at Gassaway Mansion

The ceremony was coordinated by Gassaway Mansion. It was a perfect ceremony that was well planned and executed. There was a lot of creativity that went into making this a special ceremony. The mothers of the bride and groom brought forward the rings, the groom entered in a big way giving him his own moment down the isle, and we shared many laughs as the couple loves adding humor into each part of their story. Everything went off without a hitch!

If you’re planning a wedding at Gassaway Mansion in Greenville, SC, I’d absolutely love to photograph another celebration here in the future. Between the historic architecture, beautiful grounds, thoughtful staff, and endless portrait locations, it’s a venue that offers so many opportunities for meaningful, timeless wedding photography.

The thoughtful venue team and variety of portrait locations show how strong coordination can elevate both the wedding experience and photography. Planning meaningful details together can also include practical conversations about finances and expectations, as outlined at https://helloprenup.com/.
